THE INVESTIGATION AND THE PUNISHMENT
The Order's syndic is responsible for receiving complaints from the public and, if necessary, referring them to the disciplinary council, which is responsible for sanctioning breaches of the Order's regulations or the Professional Code. Furthermore, complaints regarding fees billed by CPAs are subject to a conciliation process whereby the syndic attempts to bring the two parties to an agreement; if this fails, the dispute is referred to the accounts arbitration board.
